...caused presumably by the larvae of the very rare leaf beetle Agelastica alni, of which 3 adults were seen.

Interesting session at Haigh included this small
Alder tree, most of the leaves partially skeletonized.

Many tachinid flies in evidence, including the minute Phasia barbifrons (possibly new to Yorkshire) and this very scarce Lophosia fasciata.

Interesting morning by the field edge, lots of insects on umbellifers.

Nothing spectacular, just a nice shot of a lovely insect and there were many about in excellent condition.

Found on my trousers after mowing the lawn - took a whlie to work out what it was - Comma caterpillar.
